A visit to London
May. 26th, 2026 07:46 pmWe happened to book travel to London for what turned out to be a record-setting heatwave. Fortunately, I am the kind of person who greatly enjoyed summer in Eastern Tennessee and my months in the Philippines so it suited me well. I had left my raincoat behind, brought my sunhat and made sure to remain well-hydrated. I also enjoyed a nice meal at The Sushi Co: miso soup then the maki mix. It was strange being around Liverpool Street and on the Northern Line at times, it reminded me of in-person gatherings of the European end of Zilliqa. Our Travelodge (cheap motel chain) was some way along the Central Line and offered user-settable air conditioning rather than my going down to reception to ask for another electric fan. Among other things, I finally got to see the Imperial War Museum, at least some of it. I think it was among the better of my visits to attractions, they do a decent job without being overwhelming.
