I went back to see Andrew Bolton on Perth Road who determined that over the past couple of years my reading glasses prescription has progressed from around +1.00 to +1.50. I would be happy to buy another pair from the Foster Grant range if Superdrug still carry them. Perhaps it is possible to buy the same style of glasses that I already own or, like clothes here, maybe the available styles are inconveniently ephemeral. However, while I can see that the model code, etc., is inscribed inside the frame of my reading glasses, of course I must take my glasses off so I can't confidently read it. In my relative ignorance of optics I wonder if my +1.00 glasses will come to afford some improvement over around the larger distance at which my computer screen is when I am at my desk.

In the meantime my +1.00 glasses are a noticeable help while I try to read Sue Burke's Semiosis which is a challenging book. As I proceed further it is toning down the plant biology which, while apparently thought-through, is hardly gripping reading, though the narrative keeps jumping far forward in time to new characters about which I don't yet care. Still, that episodic nature makes it perfect for when I can't read for long at once and some sections provide an at least somewhat alien perspective which I always appreciate.

Update: I realized that I can use my cellphone to take a photograph of the model code of my glasses.
