One nice thing about having moved back to the US is the ready availability of Pepper Jack cheese as an option on various menus.

Hot pepper in cheese isn't typical in Britain, indeed. It's not unknown but not as commonly available. Herbs or fruit/berries are more popular inclusions. Subway in the UK does (sometimes) offer peppered cheese though so I guess the idea's being imported!
