Today I shopped in Walmart. I was going there anyway, they stocked a toothbrush holder and paper towel holder that I wanted so I had set them for pickup. I took the opportunity to stock up on groceries for the coming week, plus a French cruller impulsively as I am partial to those. Pickup for my chosen items wasn't available in Oak Ridge so I drove into West Knoxville for the first time in weeks. Oak Ridge is a small city, I live within its limits and its stores offer much of what I need; I otherwise remain fairly hunkered down given the pandemic, typically driving not much beyond the city limits, and that little more than weekly.

This afternoon saw lovely weather for my expedition to another city and I much enjoyed getting out and about. It felt good to be driving through a major city on the interstate. Simply walking around my neighborhood doesn't give me the same feeling of the world being at my fingertips. On seeing Cracker Barrel from the highway, it was strange to think how I could simply stop and get myself some country-fried steak. As I do not often visit that Walmart location, I indulged in just a little more looking around the store than necessary.
