Simple baking

The Cornish hen for Christmas worked out decently, I inserted onion and butter into it. I still have some parkin left but, mostly with leftover ingredients from making that, today I have instead baked a loaf of banana bread. I used molasses in the recipe and the color of the batter reminded me of making fruit cake. I enjoy relaxing a little at the weekend and making the most of having a large kitchen to myself. Most helpfully, the handyman has properly anchored the stovetop hood to the wall and extended its ventilation actually through the kitchen ceiling and out through the shingles, another indictment of the previous remodel of this house.
