caloriesper minute, I had slacked off somewhat and my typical performance had dropped to a rate of 19½: I wondered how much further down it might go. A month later I had the pleasant surprise of the start of unexpected improvement. I do not know what changed but for the past couple of weeks in every one of my workouts I have averaged more than 20
caloriesper minute; today was just over 20¼. If I can sustain that in the medium term then I shall be satisfied.
