A couple of times last year I complained about instances of useless nutritional information on Asda-brand foods. They are still at it: I am changing my meal plans tonight because the ingredients it was suggested that I use are all from Asda and labeled for the calories and weight of the pan-fried product only. What do they expect me to do: pan-fry each item according to the separate instructions for how much vegetable oil or whatever, then weigh to determine how much (water, etc.) each component lost in frying and only then combine them? Simply telling me information based on raw weights or fraction of a pack or whatever would have been so much more useful. I am not asking to exclude the other information, perhaps it suits some, but do tell me numbers that directly correspond to the plain product as sold. The best brands will even tell me an average per piece or enough to convert between uncooked or cooked weight or whatever. I can do the arithmetic but Asda often do not even provide a viable starting point.
