Date: 2025-06-21 04:18 pm (UTC)I like my M2 Pro Max, though I think I've kinda worn out the keyboard, so it may be going into the shop. I've been considering a reformat and restarting it from scratch, not from a Time Machine backup. Copy Docs and Downloads to the cloud and reinstall apps from scratch. There's a lot of cruft sitting on it from almost two decades of machines that could really stand cleaning out. Amongst the problems that I've had with my M2 Pro is that I can't get root to work for me, and I think it's from old cruft leftovers. And that makes it more difficult to install Python packages.
I bought a new laptop last night, a 17" PC with 64 gig of ram and a 2 TB SSD. Should be arriving next week. Mainly for SQL Server, Python, and Lord of the Rings Online. Hopefully it should work out well. With it being a new box, I'm hoping that I don't have any problems installing Python packages to it.
