Well, I work for a State government agency with Federal and State funds which has a lot of Diversity Goals in place. At the last "all hands on deck" meeting via Zoom - they informed us that the only additional requirement in regards to diversity that the Fed's were currently imposing was "hire based on merit". So yes, you can continue to pursue diversity goals, but merit has to be a factor. This explanation came from the "BLACK" woman who ran the Diversity Department (ie the Chief Diversity and Compliance Officer.

Whenever we hire a contractor, consultant, design-builder, personal services - we have to meet a specific set of diversity goals: 15% Minority Owned Businesses, 15% Women Own Businesses, and 6% Veteran Owned Businesses. For Federal? 22.5% Disadvantaged Businesses (which is anyone who is considered a small disadvantaged business). Also all of them have to have EEO in place, Affirmative Action policies in place, etc.

There are a lot of State and Federal Affirmative Action, Equal Employment and Diversity Laws across the board, many of which are supported by State and Federal Constitutions.
