In performance I'm most ungifted in music but enjoy the attempt nonetheless. I suppose that the computer music and computerized sound books I recently mentioned owning reflect a kind of an alternative to having my old Edirol SD-20 do the work for me.

I'm really glad that you get already some creative musical pleasure in some way and I expect you could maybe get to try renting such a string instrument for some beginner lessons to find out how your hands deal with it. It's an interesting question, which instruments may work well for you.
