The Asian Civilisations Museum certainly has some good artifacts. I was a little confused at first at how they mixed in some Buddhist stuff among some Hindu stuff but I figured it out, and I'd have liked a bit more information at points, and I found it curious how they had some of the rooms so darkly lit, but it's most definitely worth a visit and it's quite a building. I didn't quite get the full picture of how the different places and religions might have changed and interacted over time but my feet were tired and I sat down a bit instead of reading more. (I might have skimmed the batik exhibit too.)

Didn't try the Botanic Gardens, I may be a Westerner but I tend to be accompanied by Asians who really appreciate the air-conditioning you mention. (-: An issue I've had with some air-conditioned offices is they were rather colder than I needed, also than what I also had to deal with outside, so I'd have to dress in layers and get changed. In general I do enjoy botanic gardens though so good to know this one's well worth it. (At some point, maybe on the way to the whatever they call the national museum, I believe I was walking through where a previous botanic garden used to be.) Though even just the common native flora is quite exotic from my perspective and fortunately R. can usually point things out to me.
