Mmm, at the solstice we have sunrise at 4.12am and sunset at 10.08pm, and it's still fairly light at those times: here, drivers have to turn car headlamps on a half-hour after sunset. I should get to spend August in Manila which is a lot more sensible in that regard. (-:

I want that nighttime summer light to be in the winter instead. When working in an office, even in southern England, I never saw my home in light except at weekends, which was the only time I bothered opening the curtains. If I wanted to, say, work on the car mid-week, I'd do it at lunchtime in the car lot at work.
