To be fair, English sucks. The only likely global contender is Chinese, and I am terrible at even recognizing the 5 tones, much less producing them. I wish the world would decide on an international standard based on ease-to-learn rather than whose-economy-are-we-sucking-up-to. I'd be more than willing to learn Esperanto for that purpose.
