In recent years I am seeing more graphical user interfaces including content assistance that is annoyingly intrusive as I type. I will find that my focus ends up among the popped-up assistance options instead of where I was typing, or it will have automatically selected something of which what I am typing is a prefix, or it will think that a close-parenthesis I am attempting to insert before another is actually me trying to retype that existing one, or whatever. A simple rule: if I type faster than I react to appearances on my screen and, once I have typed, see that I have input something other than literally what I typed, what was actually provided to me was content hindrance.
