Mainstream social media

A difficulty of moving to a new place during this pandemic is that of getting to know my neighbors. To this end, I have reluctantly been dipping my toes into popular social media, currently Facebook and Nextdoor, not yet Twitter. So far it has been manageable, not yet much overhead and it remains reversible, I shall see how it goes. My current inclination is to keep it small in various regards. At worst I come away having found out a little more about what these well-known things actually are.

My sister lives in Vano. I think that's outside of Knoxville, but I have no idea where. Her boyfriend retired and she moved out there with him late last year. She works for the FAA.

I know nothing about the area, but they love it. Her daughter and son-in-law both graduated from the University of Tennessee. They apparently love Knoxville.

I haven't been there.

I haven't come across it but, yes, it does seem to be a good area, pleasant and livable in various regards, I too am glad to be here. The organization running ORNL is a partnership with UT and my neighbor works for UT, in various regards it seems quite a dominant presence. Knoxville itself I'll investigate more post-pandemic!
