I used to weigh well over 100kg and have now lost over a third of my previous weight. The new challenge has been to learn how to keep it off. I have remained in the healthy region of the charts for well over a year but I am still developing, or at least refining, the long-term plan. I think past difficulty has been that I was too incautious when slacking off so I had to tighten my eating afterward to regain that ground.

At the start of the year I mentioned how the holiday eating had pushed my weight over 75kg and that I would try increasing my controlled eating to 8MJ per day in the hope that my weight would still drift back down. Indeed it has: I now weigh comfortably under 70kg. As an average-height guy my weight should be within around 60kg to 75kg to maintain a healthful BMI so it is currently just about right.

Given that I work out on most days I would expect to be able to eat even 10MJ per day without gaining weight. My journal entry yesterday about considering eating more calories earlier in the day suggests that the extra food should be eaten when I first break my fast. I usually slack off a bit over the summer when we have guests so I shall keep to 8MJ for now before they arrive but if my weight is good in a few months' time then I will try eating more.
