Gin & tonic

Tonight I made myself a gin and tonic, the first I have tasted. It took some minor arranging: I had picked up tonic water at Lidl, gin in Tesco, then needed to budget some spare calories. I am not much of a fan of gin but very occasionally I have a little to remind myself of its taste. I rather like tonic water though of course the usual modern variety hardly much protects against malaria. In my gin and tonic I could taste both so indeed it tasted much as one might imagine it ought. Curiosity satisfied, it turns out that I am not much of a fan so I shall return to having just the occasional tonic water.

Being a big fan of both gin and tonic, I looked into it and I think it's that malaria evolved rather than the recipe for tonic water changing.

For me, G+T practically requires some citrus in the form of lemon or lime juice. Even if you're not minded to try that, I can recommend the occasional dash of citrus in tonic.
