Dream fragments: more aliens

In one dream, I was reading a book about how to uncover the government's UFO conspiracy. I awoke just as I was starting the chapter on how to use boats, and the items thereon, in furtherance of the cause.

In the other, I was participating in a battle to resist an(other) alien invasion of Earth. The proximate alien war machine had large barrels that launched powerful shells or somesuch at us. There was a concrete structure with a straight, wide tunnel leading nearer the foe. Observing that the barrels were to the side of the tunnel's far mouth, I wondered if the tunnel could thus shelter our closer approach. However, then I realized that the war machine could move sideways so we would become sitting ducks along the tunnel's inner wall.

A rocket booster visits

Local media reported a (replica) rocket booster in George Square so we wandered up to see it. I liked that one side of it features an annotated depiction of its twin's innards, showing things like the two stages' pairs of chambers for oxygen. Still, had I not known in advance that it was but a replica, it might have taken the time of year to reassure me that it isn't only April Fools heading up to see the rocket next to the railway station.

There were various unoccupied, fenced-off information or exhibition booths around the rocket. If one visits at the correct time, presumably the site becomes more open and engaging. From what I could see, the displays appeared to promote careers in the space industry. I might have been interested in the satellite software jobs locally except, while I have the right background to quickly get to grips with that kind of embedded computing, I don't have the experience on paper.
