This morning the movers collected my household goods and personal effects for shipment to Tennessee. I wish to avoid carrying much weight in my checked luggage: the shipment includes my sneakers so I am now done with the cross-trainer that I have used for four years; I have thus graphed my time with it. Each row is a calendar day, the green line showing the duration of any workout I did that day, each horizontal division being quarter of an hour. On an arbitrary linear scale, the blue dots represent my power during that workout, how hard I worked on average per minute. Time also runs downward with the large divisions marking year boundaries. It is interesting to notice the gaps, for instance, my tropical vacation last February. The large gap a couple of years before marks the passing of my mother.

I wonder what form my workouts should take after I move. I hope to figure some low-impact quiet regime that I adopt in my new apartment, staying fit while avoiding contagion. I want to avoid buying an exercise machine, I will have limited space and do not want to have to move a machine when I buy a house. Some weights would be okay and I can do bodyweight exercises too. I guess that some simple all-round routines have been developed by those who know human anatomy far better than I.
