I understand completely. I'm a poor man's Weird Al: I'm frequently rewriting song lyrics for Lord of the Rings Online, and then I cobble together a song rewrite for the game and perform them. A combination of too much exposure to Weird Al, Monty Python, and Firesign Theater when I was a teen.

We recently had a music event in LOTRO called Monsters of the Rock. I started the day Sunday with an hour of Electric Light Orchestra and a rewrite of Showdown:
"She cried to the southern wind
Her dance partner could not attend
Every dream in her heart was gone
There's gonna be a hoedown"

My actual musical skill is pretty much nil, but I had some small skill in poetry. The music side in LOTRO is using a program to remix midi files into the ABC format, which lets you perform them in-game. I seem to have a talent for that.
