Sometimes you just can't beat a 50' long Cat6 cable. Have you tried a USB WiFi dongle? Bummer about your Linux config misbehaving, I've been having some stability issues with my new Mac that are quite annoying: like I can't tab between the address and subject line in Yahoo Mail in a browser tab, or Lord of the Rings Online locking up or flat-out crashing the whole rig!

It's a brand-new MacBook Pro 14" with two M2s, 64 gig of ram, and 4 TB of SSD. It's definitely not starving for resources, so something is funky. I've never had a Mac that was this unstable without something serious going on. Apple has a new OS out, I was going to wait another couple of weeks for shake-out patches but I'm thinking about getting that installed like now.
