Safely settled in Taguig

It is wonderful to be back with my wife. At the moment, we can both work from home on similar schedules and be together just about all the time. My flights to Manila were with Qatar Airways via Doha which was just fine, a previous trip with Emirates via Dubai was good too, both make for an easy connection.

I heard an airliner even before 5am, I guess they may fly just about anytime. By that time, I also heard muezzins, quite a difference from the church bells that I became used to in England, I enjoy them both. There are maybe four mosques near enough to hear but I think it's mostly just a couple that are clearly audible. Another early sound is roosters crowing, and it turns out that the lot next door is now full of goats. Of course, the geckos are silent.

My dad's parents house in Las Cruces, NM the morning sounds, in addition to chickens and roosters, were trains. There was a track about half a mile behind the house, we'd sometimes put coins on the rails to get them pressed flat. When I lived there later, still trains, but I was living in a much denser area so no chickens. Had a little barn owl that liked the apartment complex.

I'm glad you're back with your wife. It must be had to be away from her.

I love goats. They have beautiful eyes!

Haha, they have very strange eyes! Well, I'm not used to looking at prey animals up close, I guess. I'm always curious to look at them though.

Yes, things feel right and good and safe at last when we're back together, it's just somehow the right place to be, wherever we actually are. (-: Very much looking forward to the visa approvals.

Aha, yes, I've often lived or stayed near freight lines in the US, especially in Ohio and Michigan. A couple of our Ohio abodes were near indeed to railway lines, e.g., my first apartment there had the railway run behind the houses on the opposite side of the street (though there we also heard the helicopters after dark) and the change in neighborhood definitely gave meaning to the other side of the tracks. Oak Ridge, I could sometimes hear the freight train but it was certainly more distant, not so much something I came to expect. So, good point, the train horn is another familiar sound I grew to like, partly because I tended to like where I heard it.
