A long, clear night

My change in latitude changes the look of the night sky a little and, at this time of year, we get plenty of darkness. Last night the sky was clear and overhead were Cassiopeia and the Pleiades. It is nice to see the stars among the trees.

City law and pet cats

In moving to a new city in the US there is always the question of local law, regulating matters such as on-street and off-street parking. My reading of Oak Ridge law includes that, for pet cats, one must not only license them but also keep them on a leash, they ought not explore freely. I see enough cats around that I would guess enforcement to be light. There are coyotes but I also guess that it is rare for one to venture into the residential neighborhoods.
