Finally moved in

While I have had possession of my house for a while, today the lease on my Knoxville apartment ends and this afternoon I vacated it so I am finally fully occupying my house. A couple of jobs for this evening will be to fold out the camping bed and to deploy the proximity alarms which are far louder than they are large. I will feel more settled once the hardwood floors are stained and sealed but it is still nice to be living here.

Socially distanced beers

Early yesterday evening I again met a colleague for beers. We sit on opposite sides of the garage with coats and hats and space heaters, the door partially open for ventilation, briefly approaching each other mostly just to swap bottles that we have each brought. It is nice to get to talk to somebody in person. I would have liked to have been able to accept a recent dinner invitation but I have been consistently avoiding needless risk and indoor dining is probably among the worst, maybe a barbecue someday.
