Post-administration prosecutions
Jun. 20th, 2020 11:44 amMy founded guess is that many senior members of the Trump administration have violated many laws and have relied on partisan appointments to courts, at the DoJ, various IGs, together with resisting subpoenas*, to enable their malfeasance. I hope that some future administration encourages prosecutors to cast a look backward with a view to convicting anybody who indeed broke public trust so egregiously. Nixon suffered for Watergate but many of his enablers got off lightly. Given the damage that this administration has been doing, I consider it more important to deter future politicians than to avoid upsetting any subsequent bridge-building.
