Today I am suffering rather. Last week I somehow strained something in my right side and yesterday afternoon I somehow much bothered it. I did manage to sleep last night and, partly by keeping my torso somewhat horizontal, I am doing without painkillers which yesterday weren't much helping anyway. Perhaps if I take things easy today it will be less bothersome tomorrow.

Last week also involved a planned trip to Ninewells Hospital which was interesting. I am not used to Dundee's intra-city buses but there are plenty of buses between the University of Dundee's main campus and the hospital. I used the 73 route which runs every ten minutes and the buses even included a conductor who does ticketing separately from the driver.

Ninewells is on a hill: from its main ground transport area one enters on level seven which was a surprise to me. It is a large, busy hospital but my doctor was happy to take their time to ask and explain things. There was a student listening in; I am used to teaching hospitals. (My doctor is also in the University's Medical School.)

It was nice to see a hand sanitizer station at the entry to the hospital unit where I had my appointment. I did not see anybody else using it but it is good to see them around and I was glad to avail myself of it.

Our recent weather has been sunny and frosty. One of our plastic bins outside is for food and garden waste and I have noticed that the bottom portion of it, corresponding to the filled part, does not have frost on the outside. I wonder if even in these freezing temperatures there is enough biological activity occurring inside to generate heat that melts or prevents the frost.
