A lot of my more interesting activity, such as traveling around on various projects, ended over a decade ago and I am now past halfway through my probable decade in Scotland. I was asked about international travel today and it was one of increasingly many instances I am noticing where I have plenty to say but now with the caveat that my knowledge is mostly years out of date. At least I am blessed with a good memory of interesting things I once did. In planning to return to the US I am reassured that it seems to change slowly; variations are probably greater between states than over time. It's not as if I don't keep an eye on the news in the meantime.

Sometimes I find myself having the same thought in response to the same trigger; I suppose that's to be expected. For example, today I heard mention of an orthoptist and was again slightly disappointed that they don't pilot orthopters. Of course, the more a cognitive rule fires, the more ingrained it becomes.
