End-of-season cliffhangers

I have seen a few shows lately that leave much unresolved at the end of their first season. In ascending order of complexity these include Money Heist (2017), Travelers (2016) and Dark (2017). By the time the next season comes around I have mostly forgotten what was happening. When a show is difficult to follow from episode to episode it becomes impossible to remember enough over the intervening months. For example, Dark is one of those shows like Game of Thrones where even during the season mst3kmoxie and I are helping each other to remember who is who and what they have to do with whom. As I recall, other shows like Breaking Bad (2008) at least tried to tie up the acute subplots at the end of each season.
