mtbc: maze I (white-red)
Years ago there was a Python script called charm and a Perl script called jbackup that were great for backing up journals; it's nice to have a local copy. However, it's far from clear that they are still recommended or maintained: I wonder what other command-line tools people have moved on to.

My cellphone is a Moto E, new enough that I've not yet reached the point in the contract where they offer a free replacement. Since the upgrade to Android Lollipop routine app updates frequently fail through lack of storage. Vanishingly little on the cellphone is anything that I have installed or otherwise caused myself: I'd guess that 80% of the internal storage is taken up by system apps (and updates thereto) that cannot be moved to the SD card. Color me unimpressed.

I usually don't at all get on with modern consumer-friendly GUIs but Android has been a pleasant surprise in that respect. I don't know if I just have to be resigned to choosing a devil-I-know Android cellphone next time with a lot of internal storage or if competing operating systems might be similarly usable yet less storage-hungry.
