Means of exercise
Mar. 10th, 2016 07:01 pmGiven the aforementioned changes to my payroll deductions I certainly won't have the money to renew our gym membership. I enjoy swimming for a few reasons including that it is a good low-impact all-round workout. Still, an alternative must be found.
Perhaps wrongly, I feel safer bicycling on city streets instead of out in the country, which means that our move from Boston to a Perthshire village works out poorly from that point of view. On the other hand, living so near to the firth means that the weather remains relativelyboringtemperate for a high fraction of the year, which perhaps opens my options.
The village is large enough for running, at least as much as I'm likely to do. We do also have
The situation may be a blessing in disguise. With travel alone we lose half an hour each morning using the gym and with swimming it is awfully easy to slack off when one's thoughts drift. Perhaps I might end up doing something at home that is more effective but actually gives me a more relaxed schedule. So, there are options, though perhaps not low-impact, and the latter might involve the children coming downstairs most mornings to my filling up the drawing room with entertaining exertions. I can do some body weight exercises which would be gentler on me but I really could do with some cardio element.
