Once or twice a year I have [personal profile] mst3kmoxie test my blood sugar. I am more used to the American readings in mg/dℓ but here in the UK we instead use mmol/ℓ. Anyhow, after little more than drinks like black tea and coffee today, nothing with any calories, my blood sugar reading is 5.7mmol/ℓ which is around 103mg/dℓ. NICE's Public Health Guideline 38 suggests that 5.5mmol/ℓ and above indicates high risk of developing type Ⅱ diabetes so I shall continue to keep an eye on it. It is pleasing how over the years the lancets have become less painful.
