Avoidable issues for the disabled

City center traders in Perth are having the council reduce the number of disabled parking bays. There already isn't a great abundance of them. I wonder to what extent people appreciate that for the disabled a lack of spaces on their target street could easily mean a wholly aborted trip.

I see what I think we now call little people around Dundee. What fraction do have some medical condition causing dwarfism I don't know but I imagine that even something as simple as being unusually short is more inconvenient than I realize and sometimes needlessly so. I recently saw some food and drink being offered from a high countertop and I had a vision of people having to grumpily unstrap their foldable stool from their back. I don't know what they actually do but I suspect it often tests their patience.

At least in the US, there's a huge rate of disabled placard fraud, to take advantage of the free parking.
