Progress with weight loss

I like how the strange English weight measure of stone (fourteen pounds) easily captures that dimension of my personal goal. My having once weighed well over sixteen stone, I require my weight to stay between nine and twelve stone, which it has for a couple of years now. I weigh around eleven stone and my target is ten. On my regime of eating 8MJ per day and getting the minimal government-recommended exercise (double, on a good week) my weight slowly drifts downward but I regain it at slacker times, like vacations or family visits, when I stop keeping careful check. Some weekend reading suggests that a good rule of thumb is for one's waist to measure less than half of one's height which is comfortably true for me.
