Grooming the stool

I am most pleased by our recent acquisition of a portable bidet, effectively a hand-held water pump with a hose. At my request, family brought back with them what calls itself a compact bidet sprayer for travel. It is much nicer to be washing myself clean rather than rubbing with dry sheets. I can largely say goodbye to toilet roll again, at least at home. Even better, with the pump drawing from a separate reservoir (a container we provided) rather than being plumbed in, the water ends up being near 20°C rather than below 10°C.

That addresses another thing I was missing with our not living in Southeast Asia any more.

I bought a couple bidet bottles to try out several years ago, then upgraded to a bidet toilet-attachment. You're right that the bidet bottles did have the advantage that they could be filled with warm water. But I've found that cold water doesn't really bother me much down there. I just have to pause the water once in a while to give my skin a moment to recover! I'd hate not to have the bidet anymore, and I did take the bottles with me on my last trip.
