New laptop computers and battery life

The work laptop computer that I was issued was new, as is the personal laptop I subsequently bought. I have been appreciating using computers that have significant battery life. Even with video calls, I find that I can typically unplug them for as long as is convenient, at least for now. Battery life of aged devices is one of the issues that concern me with electric cars: I care about the range of the car now but also what the range will be in a decade's time once the batteries have aged. I wish the charging took the form of, I stop briefly at a refueling station where they just take the depleted cells out, replacing them with a rack of fresh ones. At least I can be hopeful about longevity because battery technology sees ongoing progress.

Pat and I (when we travel) travel too far for us to be comfortable with an electric car. We're hoping that someday they will be able to cover greater distances.

We already have a car that we don't take out of town, it's a 1995 Saturn with 217,000 miles on it. (grin)

I have to say that I've been happy with my Dell battery life. It's been decent.
