Easter breakfast

For breakfast on Easter Day it felt appropriate to focus mostly on round foods. I fried eggs, onions, tomatoes again, topped with some black pepper, accompanying it with some Scottish smoked salmon that I finished off today. I followed it with some dessert: some brightly colored malted candy eggs and a glazed strawberry donut.

Not common here in the US are the large hollow chocolate eggs and the Simnel cake I know from Britain; I seem to mention the latter here every year. Next year, when my life in my new house is more settled, I shall have to plan better so as to bake my own Simnel cake.

I have never heard of that cake!

Sounds like a very good breakfast, though.

I've seen the large hollow chocolate eggs and Simnel Cake here. But it's also NYC, which admittedly has practically everything. Once I got a large hollow chocolate egg - and it had a toy inside - it was not a toy I appreciated. It was a large pink spider - I got rid of both and never tried it again.
