Blood donation; update on face coverings

Last summer I mentioned my surprise at not being permitted to wear my mask at any point during the blood donation session. This time felt safer, today it was fine for me to wear it except while actually donating.

This will probably be the last time I donate for quite some while unless people have other uses for my blood. Thanks to mad cow disease, having grown up in England renders me ineligible to donate after I return to the US.

It probably will when you in the USA. I know the restrictions on time in the UK still exist.

There are, in fact, a number of restrictions that exist that desperately need to be re-evaluated.

Interesting. I didn't know that they screened for proximity to prion-exposed environments. You'd think they would be a little more discerning than "sometime in the past you lived where there was an outbreak". I mean, the USA has had cases too.
