Even more older music

On my morning drive I was listening to the back side of Genesis' Invisible Touch album, another that is now cheaply available on cassette. I found that I prefer some of the tracks that probably didn't make it to the A-side of singles. I already knew going in that I enjoy The Brazilian which excels at that period's penchant for the vaguely evocative; one perhaps imagines smoke machines and dramatic lighting. I was pleased to find that I also rather like the two-part Domino which sounds rather theatrical to me, though I can't say that I'm at all sure what that track's about either.

Later at work I listened to Brahms' piano quintet. An interesting Polish fellow at work rather likes it so I thought I'd try discovering what I'm missing, even though I did also discover that this Friday I'm attending a divisional symposium at which he's giving what appears to be the talk I already went to last week.
