Navigation for pedestrians

Today in Dundee I performed the experiment of having the Google Maps lady in my cellphone navigate me a little around the city on foot. It worked rather well indeed: she even seemed to know of some of the pedestrian-only paths on the university's main campus and it was entertainingly odd at the roundabout to approach on foot and be told to take the first exit. It is nice to know that the app is likely to be useful in less familiar places for more than just driving.
