Driving in the snow

Yesterday afternoon it started to snow and it largely continued overnight. We did not get much accumulation, the more elevated, mountainous areas are toward the northwest and southeast. Still, it was enough to delay or close some schools this morning. The gentle snow was pleasant to drive in on my evening journey back from my house. When turning off the Pellissippi Parkway, toward the temporary housing, I passed a recent road collision in which an SUV had become wedged between metal posts at an intersection. I was confused about how best to pass it, in retrospect I think that I ought to have turned away elsewhere and approached that road from a different entry point.

I'm glad you're comfortable with driving in snow. The only time I've done it as an adult was a sudden snow storm in Memphis, and I was terrified. Then Pat reminded me it's the same as driving in loose sand, except for the black ice, so just take it slow and easy. And I was okay. But that shit is not normal.
