Household waste

An unexpected aspect of culture shock on moving from Scotland to Tennessee is the waste I am generating. When I go to the grocery store they bag my purchases into so many single-use plastic bags and the apartment complex simply has a trash compactor into which all the waste goes. No longer am I reusing bags and carefully sorting my trash.

I will live with this wastefulness for the short term and figure out better options after moving and settling. I shall attend to appliances, furniture, broadband, curtains, onboarding, etc., then attend to what may help the planet. At least I am driving such that my car's eco drive mode feels quite tolerable.
