Socially distanced pets

Our village has many outdoor cats. Since the present pandemic, I no longer stop to pet them as I take walks locally; after all, it is known that they can carry SARS-CoV-2 and many domestic cats here have multiple human friends. It has been interesting to me to observe the many dog-walkers we have: very often, the people remain socially distanced while their dogs interact at rather closer quarters. I am not worried, just naturally cautious and curious.
